On HM Bark Endeavour, James Cook had a Stripey a Corporal a Drummer and nine Private Marines.

I know a lad down there in the current batch of yo's.... They got a thrashing on their second day and the thrashings have been getting more intense everytime - Usually lasting 2 hours at a time.....friendlyfireaintfriendly wrote:My current objective in life is to get a commision in the Royal Marines
The kit inspections have been pretty brutal by all accounts too - Does a locker inspection on the train platform means anything to the old and bold ?
They are only just approaching week 4 too -
I'm sure you're just as keen as the next man who wants to become a Rupert - But I don't think a lot of people realise how mentally and physically demanding it is to be an Officer, especially in the later stages of Commando training. I know I wouldn't want to do it
