My name's Steve. I joined the army as a Junior Leader at the age of 16 in 1990.
I served in the Royal Hampshire Regiment up to its ammalgamation with the Queen's Regiment, then in 1st Battalion, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment. I did four years (and ninety seven days!) leaving in Dec 1994.
All my time was served as a private soldier in a rifle company.
For the last six years I have been a wholetime firefighter with Jersey Fire and Rescue.
I'm married with two daughters, one 9 years old, one 9 months old.
That makes me outnumbered three to one!
I hope to be able to contribute to the forum. I have an unhealthy obsession with firearms and kit so I think I'll fit right in......

No striking for us. Jersey Fire and Rescue is not part of the UK Fire Brigade Union membership. We have an independent union.
Saying that, I support my UK colleagues in their action.
