OASC Aptitude

I have now sat the aptitude test twice. Once last month and the first 6 years ago. Apparently, the test results were (quote) "quite strong", and clear all the way upto pilot.

My question: If I go back for a second attempt at entry, will I sit the tests again? (My first visit 6 years ago was for a scholarship, but roughly the same tests) I know that you are only allowed to sit them twice, but what would I do instead ???

I'm confused. Have you done the tests twice already and then not got in ? I was under the impression you are only allowed to do them twice ever and then you can'ty apply again - but that;s if you fail them both times. So if you had passed aptitude and then just not got thorugh the rest, I don't really know what would happen! Are you allowed to apply 3 times? I didn't think so.

When in doubt ring your AFCO!!

I have been told of someone who had to try 3 times before getting a commission. You only get 2 goes at the apptitude tests and if you fail both times you are definitely out.

The problem at the moment is that everything is changing so like cathy said, contact your AFCO

Sorry, let me explain.

I have sat the aptitude test twice and passed - with strong results which would be good for pilot.

The first time was 6 years ago - a scholarship for college - which i didn't get.
The second time was the other month. I failed to be accepted for a few reasons including fitness, hanger ex's and interview.

They have encouraged me to re-apply in 12 months.

My AFCO are not that good. I know a few people who have passed through, all of whom haven't got a nice word to say. Each time I have to speak to someone different and the OC is.....busy..... each time i ask to speak to them.

In that case, I think you WILL sit the tests again, but it will be less important what you score, as they will take the higher score of the two times you've been at OASC. (Would suggest you still try and pass though!)
Would be good if you could show some improvement on the aptitude tests, but concentrate on whatever recommendations were made on your feedback from last time.

You will sit the tests again (they won't give you the morning off!), but the results won't count. If you've already sat the tests twice, then your best results will stand.

If you have any questions, that your AFCO won't/can't answer please feel free to e-mail me.

Just to throw a spanner in the works...

The guys who had done the tests twice before were able to wait in reception, effectively having that morning off.

However, their day didn't speed up as a result, as they still had to wait for the rest of us to finish before starting the medicals

This is how it was last week anyway
