I bought that edition of runner's world this month by chance. I have to say, it's one sad magazine innit, these people take running too far, all their crappy trendy nobhead clothes and sunglasses.
There was a good article on the EX-green jacket training to become the fittest man in the world. once a month he does a non stop 154 mile run! Food for thought huh

I have to say, having had shin splints twice before, the only rememdy is to not run on pavemanet at all. I've recently started back on a hectic running scheudle after 1 year and IMO the only thing that has prevented me from having shin splints is running on grass 90% of the time.
