As we have a 'broad church' on these forums from all around the world can we all join in with price comparisons, for example here in the UK

Petrol is priced at 83p per litre on average.
A loaf of bread 75p
A bag of sugar 82p
A packet of cigarettes £3.50
A pint of beer £2
A CD album £12
The above prices are average and may vary from store to store and area of the UK.

It may be difficult to adjust these 'overseas' prices into Sterling, no matter, in Euroland £1 is equal to Euros 1.50 approx.

Don't compare wine or cars etc unless you name a specific bottle/model, just generalise.

That is why they are that price! Those in Kent get the white van loads, we pay our full tax to keep your taxes down, we are called d!ckheads.

Stupid when you think of it, we produce the booze, fags and baccy, ship it to France with no tax on it, the Frogs put their mark up on the stuff plus taxes, we go over and haul it all the way back here, we certainly are eejits.... :o

Hey mate, in Australia prices for similar items would be as follows:

Loaf of bread = $2 or about 80p
Dunno about the sugar, I don't tend to buy it.
Cigarettes= $7.50 or about 3 quid.
Pint of beer= $5.00 or about 2 quid
CD = about $30 or 12.50 quid

I've noticed that grocery shopping in the UK costs me about the same as in Australia, however things like restaurant meals, and clothes are very much more expensive in the UK.
Cheers guys,
Josh.
