Ahoy there!
A teenage paratrooper has died in what is believed to be a shooting accident while serving in Iraq.

An investigation is under way into the death of 18-year-old Paratrooper Andrew Kelly who had fulfilled a boyhood dream of becoming a Para.

It is understood that Private Kelly was in barracks when the incident happened.

His family live near Tavistock, Devon, said a Ministry of Defence spokesman.

Private Kelly was with the Colchester-based 3rd Parachute Regiment, and at the time of his death on Tuesday was based in Basra, southern Iraq.
God Bless.

I have started to respond a few times each time becoming lost for words.
No doubt there are many like myself who feel such sadness when one so young is lost.
On behalf of those of us who were once 18 but who's eyes are now misted over, our prayers are for Andrew.
May his famly find peace in a son who fulfilled his boyhood dream.

At the going down of the sun
And in the morning we will remember them.

Never forgotten.

Andrew was a friend to my son, who is still on operations. I am sure he will be deeply missed. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family at this very sad time.
