yes, but he has to request it. You can deny him access, but then you obviously cant join the military..

No, not unless there are any quarms. Usually if they have to question anything, they will just write to the doc.

If your bro decides not to mention it in the medical or on any forms then no they won't have any reason to check any records. If it is really isn't an issue and he feels it won't have any affect on his performance or EVER put his fellow soldiers at risk then why make a mountain out of a mole hill.
No one gets anywhere in life with out being shifty now and then.

some forms of laser surgery are accepted now.which one did he have? if the doc suspects anything he will delay the selection process until he has your civi docs(you have to agree to this) but as long as you pass the sight test there should be no dramas. if your caught lying you will be kicked out without doubt.if your brother had surgery over a year ago there shouldnt be any change now so he should be ok. i have worked with guys as blind as bats (excuse me if i exagerate a little) who still get in. the info i put here is fact i know a man who has access to the selection proceedure

B. Your sight after op must meet the standard for the branch\Royal marines
C.12 months have elapsed since the procedure
D. There has been no side-effects
