what's it like mal ?
What kind of PT are you getting, and does your locker get thrashed each day? I want to bring my digital cam with me but I am afraid it might get broken.

Mal obviously dosent get much time to post due to being worked like a donkey in his basic trainning. Ive spoke to him while hes in so ill put a little of what hes told me in

. He says: 'Its f@#k solid mate. The PT is f@#k intense as and yuou get beastings 24/7' Some of the lads have massive blisters yhou wouldnt believe it, the cpl sucks although mal wont be leaving for love nor money. 'As for no fighting going on in thearmy thats a load of bollocks. Only lad got nutted by cpl yesterday, i almost got in afight about an hour ago. another lad nutted a crap hat yesterday afternoon. f@#k ell man. Footy in the NAAFI had finished now so no doubt the cpl is on his way down, were all in the shit.' Hes also done some overnight exercises in the pissing rain on rations, not too nice apparently. He also said he thought he was fit enough when he went in for the trainning but hes far from it and its hard as nails.
Sounds good eh? btw mal was running like 8:02 on his 1.5 mile b4 he went in bangin out about 60 pressups n 80 situps in 2 mins (each) and about 15 heaves i think.
Respect and good luck to mal!

You buggers are scaring me now!
I've got my second interview on the 9th July, and I don't know how long it takes to get through RSC etc, but I figure if I'm lucky I'll make the August 15th intake.
Doesn't sound like I'll do so well if Mal was already about ten times fitter than me, and seems to be struggling. I'm ex-computers, I'm going to find it hard enough as it is, without everyone fighting with each other.
Oh well, I'll just try and keep my head down, and buy the odd round, so everyone thinks good things of me!

Ash i am sure that it feels hard to everyone no matter what level of fitness. You can be as fit as a butchers dog and still have to go past the stage of being comfortable and then its upto your will power to take you the rest of the way. The training builds up so you are not in the deep end straight away. If you can pass RSC then you are fit enough to start training. Good Luck, i got my Interview 30th June

. I think they are putting me through RSC ASAP cause i applied in March and i am fit enough to do it, so they say anyway.

Mal is in his first few weeks of Para training so it will be more intense than most other training that the rest of the Army do so dont worry that he is fitter than you.
Youll be extremely lucky to make 15 Aug intake! you'll have (on average) a two week wait from your second interview to go to RSC. then probrably another two month wait for start of basic, providing you pass!

Para recruit mate, dont quote owt I say to you elsewhere k. I could get into fair bit of shit for it if anyone from base found out I been sayin stuff on ere. Just staying safe. I aint gonna go giving away all the details about trainig. Its upto you lot to experience it for yourself! I can tell you now that, right now ive just come back from a locker inspection and im soaked down to my boxers. ill leave it to you to get an idea of training. First 6 weeks are suppos to be hard but after then its suppost to ease off a bit. Just remember thou, the odds are something like 10% fitness and 90% mental. You will understand if u make it as far as training.
Im off now - another locker inspection - get in!!!

Wow, seems hard as nails. I really can't wait until I start training after reading that. I suppose one of the hardest things for me would be taking shit of the corporals and looking like a idiot not doing nothing and just having to take it, I’m not that sort of person. But it’s a part of my personality that will have to change, controlled aggression and all that.

Para-recruit, i think you have stepped over the line mate. Fair enough if mal wants to tell you some stuf about training, but for you to open your big mouth and risk getting him in deep shit, is f@*k selfish and stupid.
It is good that there is a primary source around to give us a little insight into how hard the training is in the Paras, but if you want to know what it is really like, go and join yourself and maybe they might teach you to keep your gob shut
Stupid mistake, and obviously mal didnt want you to tell everyone, so you really have showed yourself up. There has to be a degree of secrecy about what happens in depot to keep up the standards and to stop wannabe's on here and other places to know every detail about what goes on, so they know what to expect. Fair play, if mal wants to tell you stuff through another median, but then you go and spirt it all out without his permission. I hope no-one else has given you any 'sensitive' information, because you are obviously a liability.

Well said James.
It wouldn't be half as bad either if para_recruit could for at least once string together a decent post instead of the usual junk he writes with words all over the place, poor spelling and grammar.
Cheers
