My Dad's 'cool wid it' and thinks it will be good for me
'Mother dear' however is still unsure about things. I think she's accepted that I'm going now and signed my forms for me being the young lad that I am.

A year ago my mum wouldnt allow me to join (I was only 17 so didnt have a choice) while my dad recommended the TA to see what the life was like.
Today, my mums fine with it (deep down she probably wants me to go to uni and get a 'safe' job) while my dads happy about it.

Ok heres a quote from my parents.
''We dont care what you f**kin do-we just want you out the house- you never do anything helpful and...............blah blah blah!'
So thats 1 reason i wanna join up.

You only get one life, it's not a rehearsal, and you can't backtrack and recover errors made. So go out and give it some!
Freestyle, you are not the first, and certainly won't be the last to hear such 'helpful' comments. I say helpful, as they can inspire you to achieve more than anybody, especially your parents think possible. Get out there and show them.

At the end of the day the choice is yours, i had dramas with my mam but she got used to the idea when she could see how happy i was on leave, in the end they will be very very proud of what you are doing.
Show me a mam who will not put her son's pix on the wall because she never wanted him to join up ???, no such thing.

Chris, just between you and me, 'Going on the Doll' is what Archie does. I think, at least I hope, you meant Dole.
