IMHO the fitness test at OASC serves TWO functions....

Firstly, it weeds out those people who aren't fit enough to start IOT.

Secondly, it weeds out those people with insufficient motivation to drag themselves out of bed a few times per week and go for a run.

You're probably right biggles 1211. On my visit to Cranwell a few of the people there were very confident about the bleep test. When it came to the test they definiteley didn't do as well as what they thought they'd do.

And just to rub it in a Rockape got to level 16.

plus the military bleep test is differet to the civvy school and half the entrants say that they can run for 3 mile in under 20 minutes and do 50 press ups but have never done a continuous work out one after the other.

There should be proper exercise plan in military training to maintain their fitness level and enhance their body strength and stamina.
A cardio exercise and abs exercise plan are more effective to enhance the stamina and body strength for the longer period of the time.
