Well guys i am trying to decide between the Para's & the Marines. But i wear glasses ,i have a number of 1.5 in the right eye and 2.5 in the left eye.I can do most of my work (including driving) without glasses, but would need it for things like shooting. The Para's allow glasses(i learned that from this site)But what about the Marine's.
Could someone help me with that one?

The marines allow you to wear glasses/ contact lenses.
One of my mates passed out of the marines last friday and he needs quite strong glasses.
This was covered earlier under a thread called: can you join the marines if... Do a search for it if you want
Hope this helps

Wearing glasses will have an effect on what you can do in the marines. You should not end up as a cook but you probably won't be able to be a pilot.
As for laser eye surgery, this can affect your eligibility to join the armed forces at all. There is a thread on it somewhere (do a search for laser eye surgery). Basically it appears that the forces have gone from a policy of blocking anyone with laser eye surgery to allowing some surgery. However, your eyesight sounds very similar to mine. I wear glasses for shooting but not for driving and was told that my eyesight was fine for duty. My advice would be to avoid surgery as it may bar you from service and it sounds as though you don'y need it anyway.
Besides, you could spend the money you save down the pub

Bloody hell!... Don't let Rogue Chef hear you say that or he'll be giving you a case of

or he'll make a call so that when you arrive at CTC, you'll be given some 'family size' galley duties
Anyway, look at the the following thread regarding goggles

Laser eye surgery is definately not accepted in the marines, i checked this at my medical. The doctor said the two branches under the navy that don't accept it are divers and marines. As for having it done after you join, well i wouldn't know about that but your eyesight doesn't sound that bad.
