Well.........

Ultimately I came to this site with a lot of interest as I was badly injured and I felt out of the loop. Now I'm about to go back I feel I can reflect.

I have been outrightly abused, attacked, and all else. I thought a military site would be interested in an exchange of views but I don't feel this one (or any site) ever will be. The internet is an interesting thing but when you resort to my cock is bigger than yours arguments...what's the point? Many are not interested in discussion, just attacking those who don't agree with saying how great we all are because we wear green.

Military thought is a good thing. Be it amongst NCOs or Officers. Questioning is a good thing. But for far too many the abuse is hurled for the sake of having a go at an officer and a complete, shocking lack of ability to read what others have said and try and come up with some popularist bollocks that they never had the chance to abuse a rupert about before.

'What are you here for if you're not RM?' - Well why isn't this RM forums then?? Train to be a pilot over 18 months when you could f**k it at any time and then talk to me about pressure.

I mean not to be overly critical but I feel apalled at some of the people who claim to be 'military'. I honestly felt this would be an interesting exchange of views but I now know this isn't now the case. Especially someone posting bollocks about me on an aviation specific site. We are better than demeaning w@#k. We are soldiers. Too many seem to have lost site of this.

The ceremony at St Pauls today said it all. It's not about victory parades. I wish I'd been there (sandy place). I wish I'd not been injured. To those amongst you.....thank you for your support. For the rest. Well, you know how to feel.

I've been very lucky to have done what I have so far....

I hope many others experience the same oportunities I have.

Regards

To many (but not enough) of you.........best of luck

For those that are interested.............

I have often had a go at different threads writen on this site, but I don't think I have been insulted even if we have had a frank exchange of views.
I always feel if I write a fairly good argument with out getting personal you have good ground to stand on to fight off all comers.

I saw this thread last night and I wasn't going to say anything, mostly because what can you say nicely to this juvenile rant by a commissioned officer? I agree Liz, we in the US have alot of badge collectors, and bearing a grudge so long is childish. Especially grudging over a forum. Officers, NCO's all catch hell from the lower ranks at times, it's what soldiers do, they bitch, complain, ridicule and moch their leaders and I never took it personal, I did the same before I was an NCO. It is only a problem when it interferred with duty and work/discipline.
My troops called me Anti-Christ, Darth Sailor, Mother F@cker, Bastard when they drank together, after I left the room, but never to my face. I rather enjoyed it. Perhaps it should be a universal requirement for military leaders to have a sense of humor and some thick skin. Why get bent off of comments spewed from some strangers cock holster? In the US we have a saying "Don't be a pussy". If the shoe fits. RM's sorry for the rough language, but good God I can't stand to see a grown man cry.

Spent most of this evening looking at a few loose ends, which is how I came across this dummy-spitting sesh.
SP infuriates many people, but not me. Till tonight, that is.
His spurious suggestion/allegation, that he was "abused" simply for being an Officer is farcical in the extreme.
He was abused for being a tosser.
Can any of you think of a single example of an Officer being abused on these Forums, simply because of his Rank?
Aye,

I rarely read controversial topics like this as I have enough probs of my own without reading those of others....But due to the furor of this one my inquisitive side got the better of me... I have to whole heartedly agree with Hackedorff.....If Dummy spitting is this guys game....good riddance and I'm glad that I will never have top serve under him..... Now I'll go back to being a clown. :o

Being a Rupert is all about being an Intermediary.
Looking after those you are in charge of to the satisfaction of your superiors.
It's all about balance. Rough with the smooth and all that...
I wonder how many people he insulted of lower rank than himself, and i bet none of them complained about being 'abused'.

Just got to this. Tsk tsk, sp**** you really do seem far too touchy, feely to be in the armed forces. Perhaps thou dost protest too much.

By the way, officers would normally 'seem to have lost sight of this.'

And, of course, would have 'opportunities'.

Of course, the latter may just be a typo. Unusual for someone in the Royal Corps of Typists, though
