Hiya folks

Well, me and a good mate of mine (an ex sgt from my atc unit), now an officer cadet have decided we might give the cotswold way a crack, quick as possible, continuous effort.

Ive walked many sections of it as its local to me (Im in Dursley-Nibley area on the map), and have done the Wotton -> Bath section before.

How realistic do you think a 48hr attempt is? If not 72, but itll be just on the move all the time i think, just daysacks with waterproofs, water and a poncho (incase we have to stop, for shelter), not a great deal more, scran can be dropped to us at various points on the walk, and can get hotwets that way too.

PS. The route is 102miles, take a ganders on this basic map, its not hilly terrain, only mild rolling countryside really.......

PPS. Anyone fancy joining us? :robot:

1000 mile socks are a complete waste of money. Just ask any one of us who did the 30 mile yomp across Dartmoor. The first time i had them on i had only walked about 4 miles and i had to stop and tape up due to two huge blisters on the back of my heels. The boots were well broken in and i know it had nothing to do with them. Nearly every one of us who tried the socks threw them in the bin at the end.

I wore mine on the Yomp, and every day that I trained before the Yomp, and I'm still using them when I walk 3 miles a day with my dog. I haven't had a single blister! :-?
