Yes the big rock at the end of Spain that is OUR'S.

I am thinking of going on my holidays next year and having a look at the "rock".

I know that there is no RMA there but are there any ex RM's there!!??

Or a Royal British Legion??

If so can someone please let me know.

Thank you

Yes they have an RBL Gibraltar Yorkie, though for how long?

Are you flying in? if so make sure they stop the traffic the brakes arn't so good on DC10's.

Perhaps we should all go over and do the rock race next year instead of the 30 miler........

Cheers Colin, I should have come to you first!!!!!!!!

No not flying but draging the caravan down, but as there are no camp sites on the rock then I have to leave it in Spain and nip over and spend a couple of days in a hotel.

Yes,Taking the caravan out onto British roads to hold up the traffic, and I've been planning non motorway roads to cause more tailbacks.

I'll be in touch with Sally Traffic to tell her "slow moving" caravan blocking the A?? A// A?? etc

i read in the newspaper (daily star mind ) that blair agreed to hand the iland back but keep the bases there, for the support of the spanish during the gulf ? he wanted at least one european country backing him
the hand back is set for 2005.

sounds like a deal done behind closed doors.

B.Liar really is a wan*er of the highest order. In fact I don't really think there is a word to describe what I think about him - how the hell did we ever end up like this?

What buggers belief is the way they try and sell this sort of thing as "being in Britain’s interest"
Is Gibraltar Blair`s to give away?
Thought not.

That's why I want to go and have a look at it before B(illy)Liar gets rid of it.

Plus a G&B in the back window should go down quite well, through Spain.

Yorkie..... this may sound ridiculous..... Have a look in the Town cemetery, the grave stones go back yonks and you will be suprise what info you will find there. Also have a walk through the Rock from the harbour side to the Rock Hotel and the water catchment area. Another good visit is the Caves......Then of course there are the watering holes for refreshment. When I was last there Gib was the first and last port of call to get a pint of good old Draught Bitter

Heard on the news today that it has been decieded NOT to share with the Spaniards. I was in FI last year when the vote was taken in Gib. All in FI knew what the result would be.

I'll have a look around the graveyard... never spent more than one night there so it's to be an experiance.

Got a reply back from Gib with the info I wanted.... so away we go

Yorkie, watch out at the top of the rock, as those monkeys will pinch and bite anything! If you fancy a drink try Charlies hole in the wall. Nice place, but not many birds though - thinking about it the barman wore pink and I'm sure i saw Dale Winton come out of the heads and Boy George was the entertainment.(singing).
If you go down to the opposite end of the hospital its all been done out down there, have a good pint and a lovely sunset view.
It has been said that Tricky Trev is out there doing the rock and singing, 'She'll be coming round the mountain only 4Km away!!!'. Watch out for the coppers as they pick on single young brits  (oh well you'll be alright, you big strong northerner.' Have a good one :drinking:
