ive just had my 17th birthday a couple of days ago and got a bergen  . as ive told you before iam planing to come over to the blighty next year from oz and try and join to the royal marines.
Is it worth practising and getting experience walking with a pack??? or do you think there will be ample time to cover this in training?. Iam currently heading over to Nepal and staying over there for about 5 months and hoping to get some treaking done and mountain experience in my pocket but if i dont need to practise with a bergan that much for thr RM then i will change my walking plan. So if anyone has any ideas or tips that i could use...... please say.(sorry if this doesnt make sense  )

thanks again

Are there many australians serving in RM??????

There really is no *need* for bergan training. Thou saying that i would'nt advice against light bergen work. My advice thou would to take it slowly you dont want to rush it and create a new problem because of an inury.

No mate, don`t worry about training with weight, you`ll just end up with knee injuries.

At 17 your body does not need to be carrying a bergen. Relax, let it happen in its own time, wait until the RM pay you to carry weight, at least then you will be covered in case of accidents/injuries.
