1985, one of the bigest catastrophe in Anmerican history happened in the mid states.
This almost brought down one of the largest multi global companies in the world and tore the states apart. The company concerned producing a truly global product which can be purchased in most if not all countries of the world. People cried , ripped thair hair out, called their congressman, and marched in protest, in fact america was in termoil......for what?


Coca Cola changed the recipe of Coke and the states went wild....Having spent multi millions on product surveys, secret techniques of brewing the replacement, publicity and advertising .... only to go back to the original drink some 18 weeks later because they got it wrong?!

... I guess that at the time the rest of the world was too uninteresting!

This is, surely, quite natural. In the 70's I was on exercise in Sardinia attached to an Italian "force". As we decamped onto the beach head we saw the Yanks landing a few K away. Onto the beach came a (sort of) JCB fork lift with a Coke machine on it's forks???

The mind boggles.

Of course, the Italians were absolutely the most unprofessional bunch of soldiers you could imagine. The only mitigating thing was that their 24hr ration packs contained a 1/4 bottle of brandy!!! :bday:

Not sure about the queueing thing, I remember when Asda first opened in Guz, I left the missus in a 'line-up' (easier to spell, and I am a Canadian now!), whilst I went to grab that one thing she had forgotten to put in the trolley. On return she pointed to a guy who had barged in front of her in my absence.... I just leant over to him and suggested that if he had any breakables in his trolley he would do well to remove them as I was about to tip it over... He got the message!
