is it a one of case or do you all forget your family when you join up?! :(

Im 22 now was 11 when my big brother who i idolise left to join the marines, and do you know how many times I've seen him?! hahahahahahahahaha about erm maybe three times?! :(
His married got a wife and kid.At his wedding his family were shoved on a table at the back, broke my mums heart.
I still idolise him, and dare anyone to dismiss the marines, even my navy/squaddie mates, 8)
But I feel sorry for my mum and dad, not knowing where thier son is, their faces fall everytime something comes up on the news, would we get told?! (dont think said wife likes us!!)

what makes it funny is that out clubbing in Portsmouth I met a marine who serves with my brother, is in actual fact his Sgt, and he was disgusted by his behaviour!! So maybe Im tarring you all with the same brush?! :o Oh thanks for letting the whole dam club know I was "UNTOUCHABLE" Sgt, really helped that night! :-?

Just to say I guess you may get a second family when you join up, but dont forget the first family back here supporting you!! :D

Maybe he'll have a word.

I recall many a time when NCO's would ask "have you phoned yer Mum, lad". It was put across with good humour so as not to embarrass, but the underlying seriousness of the need to keep family up to speed was evident.

no he wont have a word, if my brother finds out I were chatting up his Sgt he would knee cap him then probably hit him so hard his teeth come out his arse and bite him!hahahahaha!!
