How fit were you before you joined?

So I'm sat at my desk, sneakily listening to music, picking my arse and generally being bored whilst waiting for the AFCO to magic me up and ADSC date, and I got thinking...

Plenty of people on here asking about fitness standards.."how much?" "how far?" "how many?" and "how often?" seem to be the most common. I've even done it myself.

So for those idols among you that have sucessfully joined, what kind of standards were you hitting when you left for depot? Lets have a bit of a comparison...

I know some of you may not be able to remember, having joined prior to the Thatcher government or something, but do your best :D

Ben.

When I joined up I think I was fairly fit as we all where at that time. If you wanted to get some where you walked or ran. At times you might get hold of a bike then you used that. Trips in cars were a luxury which did not happen all that often even though petrol was 5p a gallon. We also played a lot of sport in all weathers as there were no Computer games or televsion at this time. Records were still all 78 rpm and the needled that played them were made of wood. So yes we were fit in those days.
