Hi there, Ive just recieved a Booklet from my afco and it is RAF Halton welcome to recruit training. I thought that Regiment gunner Recruit training was all at Honington? can anyone set me straight on this? Ive got my formal Interview on the 24th :D can't wait!!

Hi Stu, you are correct. RAF Regiment gunner training is done at Honington.

Its ok. I just think they sent me the Halton one because there is no Honington one. It's just to give me an insight into what I will be doing so I will have the answers when they ask me in the interview. Only a few days now More excited than I am nervous?!

I would'nt worry too much about the interview mate..just be honest and if its regiment you want, then tell them that you want a challenge and believe you would be a good gunner!

Interview went well, Just got to wait and see what happens now. Ive got a driving conviction which has to be waved before I can go any further!!

Did they tell you that the driving conviction would prevent you from going further?

Was it points or what?

The Interview was a pass, I have 6 points and had a £200 fine in 2006, For an IN10 (Driving without insurance, yep I know *IDIOT*) They said they will apply for a waver and the process could go pretty fast from here or not atal so be prepared. Hopefully get a phone call or a letter with there decision next week. At the end of the Interview he said to me im what there looking for so hopefully he will put in a good word for me.

Keep your head up

Stu,

If your recruiter said your what they are looking for then I would think your chances are high, they would not put in for a waver if they didnt think your would probably get it....they hate doing pointless paperwork.

I would give them a call mid week so that he keeps you in mind..

Honington is getting closer..
