Don't know how much prep you can do before next tuesday, but I would say it's really important to make a good first impression - smart clothes, good manners, smile, act confident, even if you don't feel it! Just be yourself, don't try and be what you think they're looking for - you'll probably be wrong!
Good luck!

Like Hyperlithe said, and also get down to WHSmiths or a decent book store get some verbal, numeric and spacial reasonning tests / books and have a look. If you aren't used to that style of test get your head around the question style now, prior to the test and you will go in 1 step ahead. Even if doing this lets you go in feeling more relaxed and able to do well you are on to a winner. It helped me when I did mine.

Looking at my AST results sheet, the score you need is around the average mark. I did not put the exact mark you need on this post because your probably best off not knowing. If you would rather know then PM me.
The bit of advice i will give is on the work rate questions ( the ones with symbols, letters and numbers. ). Try and get a good quick method to answering them. There are loads of these ones and the time limit is very little.
All the best.

I cant name a book off the top of my head sorry mate. What I can say though is in addition to Luke's post, on the subject of the work rate questions with the "code". When you know what they are asking write down each part of the answer as you go along.
E.g. If a question is 1 2 3
$ & *
A B C
What number is represented by the code A & * ?
as soon as you know A = 1, write above the A the number 1. If you do this for the whole code above the symbols in the question you will have written the answer.
I hope this makes sense to you and no just me in my head, it helped me. PM me if this seems like a load of rubish and I will try to explain it better.

Good luck with your test, I passed mine yesterday even if you don't know the answer to a question just have a quess you got one in five chance of getting it right and wrong answers don't reflect on what you score just the correct ones they will prob tell you all this anyway.
Best of luck

Gather plenty of info about the trade your going for, info on current operations and past, Have your reason well thought out when they ask you why you have chosen survival equipment fitter.
Well done On passing looks like you got a decent score on the test.
