I could be mistaken, but judging by the photos on your site pretty much all of the webbing, vests, rucksacks etc are made by Webtex.

Webtex gear has a rather bad name due to quality/durability issues. Can't you source better stuff?

I would say that most of our vests are webtex and pouches are webtex and I am aware that webtex has a mixed reaction amongst the army. Talking from past experience I used their products throughout my army career including tours. The main reason we stock this stuff is because I believe the average private cant afford expensive gear like arktiks and I think webtex is very reasonably priced. We do tend to sell a lot of this brand and havnt had any issues with it however Im always open to suggestions on how we could improve! Any suggestions? Thanks.

Once trialed this ere Nylon stuff whilst in 40 in the early seventies. Was nice n comfy, and was a bit like a string vest with a zip up the front, All of us were well impressed right up until we did Absailing of the Dewerstone come the last day of the three week trial.................First one off the top ended up being lost in smoke as the nylon melted and caught fire on the way down.

Keen young man from the MOD at the end of the trial asked what we thought of it. The man was given a pile of melted nylon still reeking of burning and was informed that best they rethink the entire idea ASAP! For once Pusser took the advice of those at the pointed end and binned it ASAP.

We had some of that shit and a similar vest in dpm cotton. One size doesn`t fit all and the old 58 was very adaptable to the individual. Mine fit like a glove.
Which was shit mate, because it was supposed to go on me back
But you know what I mean, 58 was easy to fit and did a great job at the time.
Pusser saw that 58 would eventually die a death once SA 80 came in and the issue of decent bergans. The idea was to sack CEFO/Belt Order and carry the same gear under body armour or under a mega chacon. Don`t know what today`s bloke thinks of the chest rig or even better, what guys who were trained on 58 think of the chest rig?

I went from Brit '58 pattern, to Canadian '82 pattern (utter shyte - ended up using an '82 pattern belt and harness, but with Brit '58 pattern waterbottle and Armalite pouches, plus a 58 SLR mag pouch on the right for the radio).

Not sold on it, personally. It gets bloody hot. I prefer belt kit.
