Hi

When girls join the navy do they have to do proper press ups or are they allowed to keep their knees on the ground?
It only says press ups are required on the website...
Thanks for any help you can give! :)

instead of having just your hands and your feet on the ground you keep your knees on the ground and lower yourself down on your arms the same way. It's just an easier way of doing them...

There is no easy way, there is only Pusser`s way. 8)
Back straight, arms straight, hands shoulder width apart and bend arms till elbows are at ninety degrees and stretch till arms are straight and repeat.
Are we talking about the missionary or have we swapped over? :-? 8)

Women in the royal air force are no longer allowed to do "girly" press ups. Does anyone know if this is true for the navy aswel???

Also, does anyone know how long there is between when you sign up to when your PJFT is? Just an estimation from experience would be great.
Thanks!

PJFT? The 1.5 miler on the treadmill? If so, then it's dependant on your careers office. I did mine a month or so after the long winded paperwork bit.

My advice is to train by doing proper press-ups. That way you won't get caught out and you'll have nice firm boobies, savvy?

Reading the navy site, and you do the initial fitness test in the first week, buit you do the shorter timed run in week 5
