Martial Arts Injuries

I guess the martial arts subject is always a good one for conversation. However, have many of you suffered accidents whilst training?
Last year I suffered damage to my internal organs, from a blow. I was in a lot of pain for some weeks and at one point thought my number was up. Anyway, thankfully, with some professional help I made a full recovery.
A few weeks ago I was teaching a guy how to roll out of an arm lock. He was a tadge confused that night. I could tell by the blank look on his face. Unfortunately, he got muddled up with what he was meant to do. He applied a hand and thumb lock on my right hand and then dived into a role across the floor. I momentarily looked to roll with him, but the angle was awkward and I could feel my Radius and Ulna (Forearm) bones starting to bend slightly. Consequently, I stopped his role in mid flow. This reduced the chance of him snapping my arm. However, the lock was still applied and my thumb was nearly dislocated. There was a fair amount of pain as the muscles around my thumb, wrist and forehand all tore.
Its been 3 weeks now and its starting to get better. The hard part is working your way through your everyday life trying to work around injuries like this until they repair themselves. Still, it happens from time to time, doesn't it.
Anyone had any similar experiences?
Cheers

I cracked a couple of ribs once whilst engaged in a sexual encounter.
Took months to heal
Counts as training surely.

Years back when learning basic rolls I forgot to clench my toes, and managed to bend the little toe 180 degrees along the side of my foot, pointing back up towards the heel. To this day it's a lot more bendy than the other one
Also years before that I often sported impressive bruises around the head and arms, from learning a Japanese sword art taught in the old style; ie, no punches pulled, you make a mistake, you get hit hard on the head with a big stick, you don't make mistake again.

Wholley: Is this in the karmasutra?
Also: What impact did it have on the woman?
This reminds me of a joke:
A man marries a deaf and dumb woman. After their wedding he says to her:
"We need a signal system to let each other know when we want sex."
She lip reads his words and nods in agreement.
The husband continues: "If you want screwing, I'll touch your left nipple and you pull my penis once for YES. If you don't want screwing, I'll touch your left nipple and you pull my penis 150 times for NO.!!

Knew a lady who's Wampant Wabbit went haywire whilst she was in the bath.
You could hear the screams from miles around. Teach the daft woman to use a mains operated one I suppose.
Oh? Martial Arts? Oooops! Sorry didn't have me glasses on. Thought it said Marital Aides. What a silly bunt I am hey?

Steve,
She was a rather voluptuous woman of color.
Being the gentleman that I was I made certain that she"Arrived"First despite my obvious pain.
Moral of this dit is"Never allow a woman heavier than you on top"
She was mortified the next morning when she discovered I couldn't breathe.
"Wad up dere Paullie?You'm alrite?"
"Git orff me face and I'll tell you"

He he he he
I've bare arsed boxed with some big girls in my time, but think the rib breaker is a belta.
The Wampant Wabbit was funny, but the big gal sketch is a killer.
I recall a line once that went: How do you make a woman come?
And the selfish answer was: Who cares!!
However, staying on the job after she's broke your ribs is tremendous!!
I tip my hat to you wholly. You have shown guts and determination in reaching your goal. Or possibly hers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

Matt,
when I pick up injuries like this I ask myself why do I continue to do martial arts. The truth is because I enjoy it. So I guess the odd injury here and there comes with the territory. I can see from others posts, that I'm not alone and I guess I do take a little comfort in that.

Chas, it hasn't been easy. But I can be left handed if I need to be. In emergencies of course!
The injury has nearly healed itself fully after 6 or 7 weeks, but I still have a little way to go yet befre I can return to the dojo again. I'm about to use a vinegar bandage to help with this. Believe it or not it is a good remedy to reduce residual swelling.
Although, that said, not recommended, for any one struggling with the after affects of viagra!!
Thats a good picture Sandy. As they say. Its hard work enjoying yourself these days!!
Cheers
