Hi all, have just finished Litchfield today, and was told by my interviewing officer that i made the run time in 9.20 and all other areas were fairly good. So hence forth I have been allowed to go for my first job choice "The Parachute regiment".

Tomorrow ive to ask my recruitment sergeant for a job, as ive not been given a date for Cattrick yet. Any tips or advice for the next few months or so would be very welcome

Have just been told that i start on the 20th April

The only thing to remember is that things get easier with the passing of time. It will take a while for you to change from a civilian to a soldier, but once you get into the swing of things then life gets easier.

if you're talking about fitness i would go on the MFAT (MILITARY FITNESS AND TRAINING) website which is the sister site to this one if you didnt already know i found everything i needed to know on there and more but whether or not it did me anygood or not i'll have to tell you in six weeks as i go for basic on this sunday .

I can only be of help on the weekends really as during the week i dont have much access to t'internet...things to see, people to do.

My advice would be to make a start on your bestbook now, battle honours, reg history, etc. You'll thank me after you've been thrashed round the steeplechase a couple times & you've got all your kit to get ready for the next day as well as hours of writing to do! Also take as many cleaning products as you can lay your hands on to make your room jobs easier in the morning, & if you want to be really gucci, you could smuggle in a small hoover. Fitness wise don't over do it, you'll barely do any in your first week anyway and it is progressive. A bit of running, swimming & a few hill reps. Try & spend as much of your day in the pressup position as you can... "BEND, STRETCH, BEND STRETCH, BEND STRETCH, HALF WAY DOWN, HALF WAY UP, HOLD IT THERE... GET YOUR SHAGGING KNEES OFF THE SHAGGING FLOOR JOE!". Also, i'd get some practice in doing "Barstardo's" & "I love it's", otherwise your world might fall apart!

Depot isnt hard, its just full of laughs!! How can you not piss yourself laughing when you are all getting thrashed shouting "I LOVE IT!!"
