after a few month of me killing my own brain with the idea that im not achieving anything in my job, i've finally came to my senses and decided that the military is for me.,.,
im interested in the paras but after reading about them not jumping now until 2011 wont they seem just the same as the armys usual infantry? apart from the initial beasting they get? Would still go for the paras love a challenge and they seem to be in alot more action as of late..
just thought i'd say hello anyway.

Hey.
Paras are not all about parachuting nowadays, they are still the most skilled and slightly mental soldiers in british army.

I used to get 'Army' magazine and there was a article about paras and it said. 'so you want to be a para, you will have biceps the size of tree trunks , you will be the envy of every member of your gym, you are never happier than jumping from a plane with nothing more than a knife between your teeth. You are Grant Mitchel with a parachute.

my brother described it as the muscle growing to quick for the bone,.., he didnt really talk about it much as he wasnt all that happy he was discharged.. he either had the option of an operation and be in hunter company for a long time with the 50% chance of being able to walk again or leave... think hes trying to go for the TA now but the navy are messing him around apparently..
phil mitchells in the SAS have you not seen ultimate force the one with the female in the thick of it?

Thuny,
Dont worry about the parachuting. Im sure they will sort something out to get the new blokes winged up. You will be serving alongside the fittest, most professional soldiers in the Army and you will not be disapointed.
Check out some of the things 3 Para have been up to on our last tour of Afghanistan, and think this could be you by the end of this year.

The vid is made by 51 Engineers but its got some good footage of Op Augustus which was an A-Company 3 Para Op (with attatchments).
Love it when the ACDC comes on....ally as fcuk!
Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up watching that.

Go down to your local armed force's office and see if you can get some information on joining the para's. They usually have aload of leaflets etc.
