They have been around for a while now and are used by people who are regulars here. Indeed one of the moderators (Jenny Dabber) is a frequent contributor here as JoJo82.

Yeah i agree a chat room would be helpful although i have found that there are not many of us on line at any one time so maybe's this wouldn't be so good, but the option to use the chat room may encourage alot of us to do less work at work, haha
