Remember this guy...?

Image

I posted my story about getting him back in Oct '05 (viewtopic.php?t=11334&postdays=0&postor ... rd&start=0), then posted another about how a Pyranean had wondered onto our place in January. She'd bean starved and beaten and so we kept her (viewtopic.php?t=11886&start=0&postdays= ... =shepheard).

Well, "Billy" aint a pup any more and he and "Maggy" (as we called the Pyranean) are great friends....

Image

In fact, they became somewhat more than "friends". The result...

Maggay disapeared and had four pups under the front porch during the worst wind storm of the year that dropped the temp to 4 degrees (in August!!!). By the time I'd found her, she had two dead pups (died of cold apparnetly) and one live one. She then had a live one and then a still born one and I was damned if I could get her to come out from under there. There was me at zero-dark-thirty in a howling gale crawling under the bloody porch with a flashlight and my left leg in a cast. Oh happy day!

Finally, I got pissed off and rigged up an infra-red lamp in the shed and took her live pup away. She finally wised up and cam out into the shed. She then had three more over the next couple of hours...

This one was born at 04:01 hrs on 20 Aug.

By morning, she had four very large and healthy pups. I was knackered!

The next day we company all day so I had to bluff my way through that and make like I was actually listening to what the relatives *wife's!!) were saying) and bar-b-que without farking it up! "No matter", say I to myself. "I'll get some rack tonight." Fat chance!

Zero-dark-thirty once more and I have been asleep about two hours. I wake up with that feeling like I've left the iron on. Downstairs I go to find the collie haveing pups all over the clean laundr in the mud room. She shelled them like peas! Seven pups in 3.5 hours!

Suffice to say, I took the Monday off. No point me going to work like a bag o' cap tied in the middle.

Now, a month later, and we have all these little bundles of fun in the work shop... Aint they cute???

Two of Maggy's pups...

How's that for a fizog?...

Here'e some of Ginny's (the collie). They barely look like they have any shepheard in them at all...

My Mrs laughs at me. It should take me about 10 minutes to feed all of the pups theor puppy food, but it actually takes me about an hour. Once I'm in there, there just too much fun to leave alone.

Anyone want to buy a dog?
