Never worked with the Staffors as a unit or on oops but I met guys on courses, and got the impression they were a fairley average regiment, that is not a slur by the way !, I saw them not as "cutters & thrusters" or mongs but just average.
Sorry if its not what you were looking for

All line infantry regiments are much of a muchness. They have good blokes and bad blokes. The regiment's personality is dictated by which part of the country it recruits from traditionally.
HOWEVER
For the moment it is all in a bit of a state of flux, only time will tell what the new regiments turn out like. One thing that is for sure, there will be plenty of work for them, and the army will remain a good career choice

Decent enough county regt when I worked with them. Back then it was the Prince of Wales Div: Staffs, Taffs (RRW and budgee heads), Cheshires, D n D's, DERR, Gloucesters, Hampsters, and Woofers. How things change!

Parker if you want to see what we are like then come and visit us, When we get back from Telic which won't be till June

we will soon start running familirisation days where you get to see what we are all about for yourself.
Dont be put off by what you read on the internet we are a good battalion far better than most,The battalions that don't like us are the ones that have been abused by the headcases in our Mortar platoon,Or any regiment that came accross us in Medicine hat canada as we destroyed that place.

Med' Hat is a nice little city. I go there quite frequently in my line of work.
The mindlessness of drooling cretins descending on it and acting like animals, alluded to by m-a-s-s-e-y, can only be marvelled at.
Apparantly the Stafford's claim to professionalism is only a veneer. A few young idiots get some time off, get a few wets in them, and revert to the peasant rabble metality that they came from.
If I had my way, you and your ilk would be missing a few fingers by virtue of the cell door slamming so damned fast. Then in due time you'd be dealt with by our civi Court of Queen's bench long after your unit returned to the UK. Only when you had served your time or paid up would you be escorted to the airport and RTU'd at your unit's expense, branded as an undesireable alien not allowed to return.
It's such tossers that give Englishmen abroad a bad name and I, for one, do not appreciate it. For God's sake grow up!
