Zarqawi killed in Iraq air raid
Militant leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, blamed for killing thousands of Shias and US forces in Iraq, has been killed in an air raid.
The leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq died in a strike against an isolated safe house about 8km (five miles) north of Baquba, the US said.

Mr Maliki said intelligence from Iraqi people had also helped to track down Zarqawi, who had a $25m (£13m) price on his head - the same bounty as that offered by the US for Osama Bin Laden.
So who gets the cash then?

I really don't think it makes much difference.
He was not an Iraqi just a GP terrorist.
Unless of course you believe ABC/NBC/CBS.
NOW THE TROOPS CAN COME HOME.
WHEN WILL THE TROOPS COME HOME.
SURELY PRESIDENT BUSH YOU CAN BRING THE TROOPS HOME!!!!.
IT"S ALL OVER NOW!!!!!
Dosen't make any difference whilst the Sunni's and Shia's are still hell bent on a civil war.
At least Fox made that point this morning.
I'm sure Comrade Bount will be back shortly to stir thing's up again.
After all he has to make a living

Yup, I agree.
May be good news for the Iraqis, in a pyrrhic kind of way, but not so significant, otherwise.
The beat goes on.

My thoughts exactly, the sods are always hard done by. Laws are there to protect the wrong doers, the mind boggles

Does anyone know exactly how the job would of went down so to speak. I couldn’t help but notice that the photographs of the corpse had definite injuries to the cranium that looked similar to that of gun shot wounds, yet apparently it was an air strike. I am assuming there were guys on the ground that called in the jets, then entered the building to “clean up”. Forgive my naivety but I have never had much dealings with air strikes
