Well, it is better than serial killers!
I suppose that they could have cashed in on sponsorship and has USS McDonalds, USS American Express and got the sponsors to pay for it.
What about naming them after Stallone films? USS Rocky 1-4, USS Rambo, USS Firstblood... Sci Fi Serials? USS Farscape, USS Star Wars, USS Star Trek.
