I think your thread title "McNad" is a fair sum up of it, to be fair.
Try Freefall by Tom Read (Ex-Para and Red Fred as from other posts that seems to be the direction your heading) or Into the Eye of the Storm by Peter Radcliffe, much better and nearer the truth.
McNads has been out for donkeys years and takes pride of place in the bin next to the One that Legged it and Bravo "what a fark up" Two Zero.

There are far far superior titles out there than what Andy McNob has to offer...
One which might peak your interest is "For Queen & Country" by Nigel Ely. It follows his early days in the Paras and his time in the Falkland's aswell as his career in the Pathfinders and UKSF. It ends with him talking about his private CP work.
Damn good read.

There seems to be a bit of hostility toward certain ex members of 22 here.
May I ask why?

I don't think so Paul.
It's just a healthy competition
We have22ndSAS.Royal Marines,SBS,USMC,RHA,Black Watch,Irish Guards,RAF,USAF,Royal Navy,USN,RAF Regiment,The list is endless.
As far as I can see we are all on the same side.(Sorry if I forgot anyone.I'm sure I'll be the first to know).
Oh,I forgot the Coppers who face it everyday.
Wholley.

It's never anything malicious, it's just not everyone agrees with what they've written. They've done their time so it's still fair play to them.

Certain members of 22, you say?
Not on this website mate.
Andrew McNad is a liar and B20 is a fiction. If you didn`t manage to spot the lies in his and Ryan`s books, Asher and Radcliffe point the way.

Yes B 2 0 was a load of balls as was the one that legged it but they sold em and made a few quid too plus the films aswel. I have read many books of military history and you can always find fault with them all. Can you recall in perfect detail everything you have done at anyone time. B 2 0 The true story showed that what McNab said happened, really didnt, but lets face it anyone with a bit of military knowledge could realise he and leg it matey just got carried away with the truth when they realised there was a bit of dosh in it for them

Damn good read.
I'd second that!
Bought it last year and read it from cover to cover it's a great book.
Immediate Action is the book I think ash2y is talking about.
My brother-in-law lent it to me a while back I thought it was ok it's certainly the most truthful book he's wrote. I found it intresting but nothing to write home about.
Best book I've read rescently was a book on Das Reich it was a truely gripping book and a great read and as I got it out the library I didn't even have to pay for it
