Heyup youse blokes.
The Commonwealth Games are soon to be upon us and they will provide an arena for all of the anti Monarchists down here to have a pop.
They take place in Melbourne, Victoria.
The State premier there is a gobshite called Steve Brax.(of east european extraction, aparently) He`s the w4nker who walked off the VIPs dias last year before the Commonwelth Contingents had marched past.
There has been much made of the "organiser`s" decision not to have the Royal Anthem played at the opening ceremony, even though HM the Q will be attending. Rumours of Dame Kiri singing the first eight bars are as yet, un-confirmed.
Whatever, what will be will be 8)
Here`s a chance for the Royals to set out the store for the next fifty years ref Aussie Monarchy. Fark this one up, Your Majesty, and you`ll be the last one mate
Which I think would be a "bad thing"

Watch out for a flying tram at the opening ceremony, btw

A friend of mine from way back is going to be competing in the cycling, Michael Hutchinson. This is his last big event and he'll not be continuing on top level competition, so I hope he does well.

Is he on drugs, Ruth?
Because I’ll have you know that I have a zero-tolerance approach to drug taking in sport :o
Apart from Brufen and alcohol of course 8)

What events does yer man compete in?

When are you going to give up the Crabs and join the Andrew ffs, tut

No, no drugs, that's why he's leaving. He reckons he's won most things he can as a "clean" athlete and is getting a bit pissed off with people he's beaten going off to join continental big pro tems and suddenly developing amazing performance improvements.

I think he'll enjoy the alcohol afterwards!

BTW, it was suggested to me recently :D

Oi, you, put yer specks on and read my post again, ffs :o

I SAID "It has been suggested to me recently"!! I cleaned my specs this morning. How are yours? :P

Seriously, I'm off to the Caribbean for a bit and I'll see how things go. I think I'm still "temporarily medically unfit" at the moment, which has been the subject of a few heated discussions with the bean counters. I know a few Naval docs and thy're a good bunch. The thing was, I wanted to do aviation medicine research. Does the FAA do anything like that?

I am just waiting for those British Athletes to appear on the Television telling every one just how many medals they are going to win. After they trailed in last you get the old story about the injury they have been carrying for months, but they had hoped it it would be alright on the night.
Why can't we go back to making the our athletes compete for places in the team instead of handing out the places to same old faces year in and year out, and if they can't make the qualifying times they should not go

I thought that was what the qualifyers were for Tab
We had our a few weeks ago and the Thorpedo(is he gay :-? ) did well. Today he announced that he won`t be competing because of a "mystery illness" The Sarf Efrickans have been saying he`s putting it on. Don`t mention taking the wrong sort of aspro 8)

News from the athlete`s village today, the Canucks have been complaining of the heat and the Cook Islanders have been complaining of the cold :P
I`d complain about Melbourne, if it was me 8)

I often have my doubts at times if a number of sports people ever reach the qualifying times as they can never do it in the pool or on the track

See that Radcliff woman wimped out today
Bruised foot my arse :P
How many Nods have ran a thirty with bruised feet or worse ffs:P

I look forward to a totally non-partisan coverage where sportsmanship and honest endeavour are applauded equally.

I look forward to it, but ffs, this is Australia  Talk about "sing when you`re winning" :P :-?
They don`t like it up `em, Mr Mainwaring

Harry, I see you have just picked up on that Paula Radcliffe injury, and isn't that what I was saying earlier. Now why didn't she pull out earlier so that some one else might have been able to train to go.

Sorry, not too sure what you on about. Yarpy? :)

Anyway I'll be a little more clearer-I was looking forward to seeing the S.African and Aussie swimmers competing against each other.

Aren`t white Sarf Efrikaans city boys called Yarpies anymore then?
Never mind.

Three more days to go till the opening and HM the Q arrived in Canberra today, to a very enthusiastic crowd. At the end of the piece the presenter said "of course, if you really want a good view of Her Majesty, get yerselves down to Sydney and be outside XX at twelve o`clock," there followed some interviews with people camped out at said venue. Talk about security lapses ffs
