I hope this link works, i am gash with Computers!
Some of you may have seen this, its old footage however still makes me chuckle. This clip comes from Op Telic 1, and was set up by some smart bloke as a bit of PR for his unit (The Royal Stand Backs) In front of invited Media.
They were convinced they were every bit as good Royal (

) the clip speaks for itself what you see is a condensed version of events they actually tried to come ashore twice before this was filmed. We now use this in lectures as a how not to do it!

Best part is those switched on fellas at the back, who leap into the mud despite their mates being knee deep in it.

Hey but at least its the correct beach.
Unlike those fanstastic navagators of the Royal Marines who landed on the wrong beach in Spain afew years back. It was'nt even the right Country.
What was your excuse for that balls up.
My first post I know but never one to hold back

LOL. I was waiting for that one !
It was actually twenty metres the wrong side of a chainlink fence (which incidentally was almost falling over) which served as the "border".
Too many pongo patrols to list that have wandered into the South in NI, and getting disarmed and arrested by the Gardai.

HCR, I reckon anyone is welcome here, Bootnecks are a friendly bunch. But I'm curious as to why you came. What's your service history ? Just a general outline.

The Coxswain of the LCVP won a five hundred pound bet!
Also got a severe bollocking but what the Heck! Bootnecks are like that.
