Recruitment

Hello lads and lasses.
Iv been reading this site for ages and theres alot of talk about recruitment problems especially for certain units, i know that there is now a advertising campaign going on with all these exciting adverts but adverts have been on before and can only go so far.
Now a distant cousin who lives deep in the valleys just got his application rejected due to some allergies he had of certain materials, the effect was that it made his skin flare up a bit and can be controlled by cream. Now i want to know how that would effect him seriously from providing a service to the Army.
Does anyone else not feel that sometimes the Medical standards can be a bit over the top and should be relaxed, im not saying let people in with heart disease, but for things like mild asthma which can be controlled. 100s get rejected and surly these are recruits which are needed. unleash verbal abuse if im talking like a prat.
