Ok, I have absolutely no idea what all those abbreviations mean?

Understand now, its Morse code. Although translated it doesn’t make a great deal of sense in terms of relevance

You are on the right track when you mention morse code.
Regarding relevance,
Ok, I have absolutely no idea what those abbreviations mean
Hence the request not to use 'text speak', some of us do not understand that.
It was bad enough trying to chip out a letter on a stone slab using runes!!! :D

By the sound of things you have the makings of a good troop. :D
Good luck with RT.

Thanks Rover, I see the relevance now. Actually quite enjoyed deciphering it! Even though it wasn’t much. Anyway point taken and I always try and make a conscious effort with grammar anyway.

I think we will have an awesome troop too, I just hope that we all last the 8 months without having to go into Hunter or being moved back a troop.

Nice trip down memory lane there Rover.

offbeatpath - good luck with your training. As you probably worked out they are Q and Z codes which save a bit of time when you're on your sigs course carrying a 'bambi bergan' slogging up a tor with a morse key strapped to your leg (pissed wet through, thredders....drip....drip). No morse these days I gather - which probably means more drinking time on the sigs course

There used to be a specialism in the Corps (comms tech) where you would learn morse to something like 25 words per miniute (transmit) and receive and decipher morse in either Russian or Arabic.

Never play a comms tech at poker

Remember - if it was easy everybody would do it.
