Theres no need to get bent out of shape it was a simple question.
From what ive read drinking is a big part of the culture in retrospect my question should have been does taking a back seat from the heavy drinking stop a Marine being taken into the fold.

I know that mate. But everyone knows that Marines enjoy a good drink and i was interested about weither or not it could effect team bonding etc.
The last thing i need to do is get into a pissing contest with you on the forum so lets just leave it.

AWSOME BOOK!!!!! its goes into very much detail the initiation process 15 years ago along with the social life that associates the marines life. I was going to put a post on the forum about it. I think people should read it before deciding whether they could deal with some of the stuff that may happen to them during RM life.

They drink one hell of alot in any infantry unit and i think even though you may not have the intention of drinking and you dont even have to drink, i think peer pressure and the platoon may make you want to join in on the fun!

Its your choice at the end of the day, im not a heavy drinker at all, but by the time im a marine im sure i will be though lol

I thought your average Royal would be mentally strong enough to withstand a bit of peer pressure.

There would be no pressure from a 'platoon' in the Royal Marines...
