That list spans about 20 years and unfortunately nothing has been fired more than the SA80..

Just bought a savage model 93F bolt action rifle in .17 Hornady Rimfire Magnum cal. Shoots very flat and fast (head and shoulders over a .22 magnum) and promises to be a good little varmint gun. My seven year old produced a 1" group at 25m. My 11 y/o produced one hole with 5 rds (that's my boy!).

I live in Jersey, where semi auto weapons are still legal.
I have an M14, a Galil ARM 7.62, a Glock 17 and assorted .22's.


During my time in I fired pretty much all of the army's small arms, rifle grenades, the 94 and also captured weapons at Hythe and Lydd.
I was impressed by the quality of the Swiss Sig 550 rifle.

I also recently had a go on a Diemaco flat-top Carbine and Minimi Para .. :black:

Cant beat the old supersoaker 500.........or spud gun........

Most of the guns i've fired were my fathers and im not sure on the exact versions of them all, but i haven't done any shooting in awhile due to location, anyway heres my list:

-A scoped .22 rifle (forget the make)
-SKS-D (looks like a big AK-47, im pretty sure i overheard it was chinese made)
-Combat Shotguns of a couple different makes im pretty sure
-My fathers M-16, which he has unfortunately sold, since it was one of the original vietnam era versions.
-AR-15
-Bren Gun (has it all taken apart and stored in a secret place wrapped in grease, as its quite illegal here in Canada.)
MG-34 (i know this one sounds far out, but its true. As my father used to be a gunsmith and worked at a gunshop in Winnipeg, Canada. he's had the opportunity to fire just about every firearm made, and he loved the MG-34, apparently it was even crew served. Now of course i didn't man the thing by myself.)
-WWI Webley-Im not even sure the calibre on this pistol, but it was my great grandfathers and it has seen action.

Edwards159: the point is this type of topic does have the potential to degenerate into the kind of "my %&$# is bigger than yours" argument, along the same lines as "SBS vs. SAS", and other such topics generally attracting knobbers.
That wasn't the intention of the thread (which is why I didn't mind posting), but to some of the older and bolder, it probably seems to focus on what's a fairly small part of soldiering.
Admittedly, few things are more utterly boring than people discussing the most minute points of difference between two types of rifles for instance, and while I didn't see it happen in this thread per se, it's happened on others, hence the reaction.
Very understandable, so easy does it, no need to get our panties in a bunch.

I'm not even a soldier yet...

But i just enjoy firing weapons and guns in general, i think its a good topic.

I also wanted to see if anyone else had fired any WWII german MG's.

Potato Gun, medium range redneck made, single shot indirect fire vegtable weapon.

Not much. I've obviously fired the SA80/5.56mm rifle/personal weapon (or whatever name we're supposed to call it these days) and the LSW, plus the GPMG. I was trained on the LAW but never got the chance to fire it and I chucked grenades at Catterick as well. Out of the lot of them, I'd choose the personal rifle on the battlefield. The extended barrell on the LSW is a bit irritating when carrying, and lugging a GPMG about I could imagine being a pain in the arse.

The GPMG is pure pain in the arse..until you get to fire it.
