I am a little confused, so please be patient with me.

I was labouring under the delusion that we who participate in discussion forums promote and encourage robust debate. However, thanks to some members (another word for a member is a tool), I have now been enlightened as to the true purpose, which is to ensure that everyone agrees about everything and if they don't, free for all abuse ensues.

Lord Mike, honourable is spelled honourable or honorable not honerable, or have I missed something? I'm getting a little bit fed up with having to correctsenior mebers of these forums about their grammar. Type properly, like waht I does.

Having said that, as you know robust debate is [usually] the norm. The 'abuse' only ensues when the debate is more puerile than robust - and the puer goes off on one.

I'm going to appeal for calmness and forethought before this thread gets out of hand.
There is no future in abusing each other verbally.
If you wish to do so then go at it via PM.

That didn't have much effect, perhaps you need a bigger stick!

How about a temporary ban (six months should do the trick), for any member (or tool) who has used abuse, vitriol or foul language? I know it would be difficult for me to be without HH, Q, Flighty, Kiwi1988 etc, but somehow I'm sure I'd struggle through. Just an idea.

Having just re-read the posts I'm of the opinion that Rocky and Mike have also transgressed the rules of the forum. Sorry Mike, even though it was a quote, the manner in which it was used means it incurs punitive measures.
