Ivor Hellberg RCT. 22 years ago they did a recreation of it. It was shown on Westward TV or something. REMEMBER GUS HONEYBUN! He was kidnapped by certain Marines once many moons ago.

Just finished watching Ray Mear -Telemark, once again I found it really interesting especially about eating Reindeer Moss, err.

And he really got stuck into that Reindeer, snapping legs and throwing around the animal’s guts v nice.

I've only just got in from work since 7am this morning & i 4got to set the video so i've missed it, gutted!!! Any idea if they are planning to repeat it??

I remember Westward TV and Gus Honeybun. I also remember when he was kidnapped by a group of bootnecks. If my memory serves me well it was held to ransome for money for children in need or something similar.

rummour had at the time that they went the whole hog, cut off one of his ears and sent it to the studio with their demands. I don't know if that part is true, does anyboy out there know ?

That Eddie dude looks like a really hard chap. One thing i've noticed is they're all Scottish, weird that. Apparently over 60% of the SAS are Scottish, I wonder why?

Lew what's all that about? It's a bloody good program. In america they've got stuff on every night about their SF. I like nothing more than sitting there with a stella watching these kind of programs. There's something on tonight at 9pm as well, although this program isn't as good it's still SF related. This program on tonight looks promising actually, I think it's about some of the more modern missions carried out by the SAS.

Ray Mears is breath of fresh air I love watching that. Did you see on the SAS prog how you can tell which way north and south is through using an analogue wrist watch and the sun, that's the sort of thing I like.

Get a blade of grass, or a short straight twig, or a match to use as a pointer.
Hold your watch horizontally, with the hour hand pointing in the direction of the sun.
Lay the blade of grass or match across the middle of your watch, halfway between the hour hand and the 12. The grass blade or match will then be pointing directly south.

That was the only bit of survival in SAS survival secrets so far, and the silly thing is, it looks like the last . Again the next episode in that series looks to epitomise my main complaints with this sort of thing, again though whether it'll have anything which isn't already common knowledge is doubtful. But, I did like the part when he mixed Potassium permangenate and glycerine, with an official SAS "don't try this at home, kids!"

The Ray mears program was as said excellent, and very down ot Earth as well.And I have to say I was impressed with that Norweigan bloke who demonstrated how to get out of the water, if you looked at him you'd think it was just a nice warm bath, even when he'd got out he just said nice and calmly "it's cold" before wandering of to the heated tent. Personally, I'd have started screaming "Aaaah! coldcoldcold" and run off to the tent as fast as my legs could carry me .

Second that VS, my bollox would have gone into shock and tried to disappear back from hwence they came. I've jumped into a stream in the foothills of the Hymalayers that was melted snow water, it's weird all of a sudden you can move really quickly and you can't control your breathing. You can forget trying to impress a girl with your old man afterwards. Good way to die though hyperthermia's not too bad (apparantly). euphoria then unconciousness then death is better than getting shot or maimed by a mine.
