i did my para slection and did gd, 14 heaves and gd team work and agression bt did rubbish on my run, i was at front then went the wrong way and had to backtrack lol so got 10.05 wen im suppose to get below 9.18. i gt offered my second n third choices which were rifles and RE bt wanted to go for paras again so going back in three months, around april.
heres a couple of tips bout ADSC you might not know from normal sources--
You get a FULL medical(penis check)
when u walk the lap of ure mile n a half you dnt walk much of it.
we didnt do team games such as relays just circuit training like fart let running and 1 min of pressups 1 min situps 1 min jump squats.
marching was pathetic we didnt evan use are arms.
all upperbody strenth is done in same time area so wen u do ure jerry can test u might all ready be knackered.
I HOPE DIS HAS BEEN BIT USEFUL

Hello Ainsley, Congrats on you're ADSC as far as performance, i think you should definitely go back and go for you're No1 choice 'If you're allowed', As for the tips you gave about ADSC I'd disagree with you it's different for each ADSC place ours was tits up, here there and every where lol.

im not sure if you are allowed a watch on the run, no one had one when we did it. I also dont realy know why they check your genitals either lol, they check your penis and balls. it is quite an experiance most guys came out with a red face lol

just to confirm the jerry can distance:
it is a maximum of 150 metres for any capbadge, it does decrease in distance for some trades, cant remember the specifics. but for infantry definatly 150 metres
and you are not allowed a watch on the run, they take all you valuables, watches, wallet, money, phone etc and lock it all up for the duration of your time there. you do get it back for a small period of time for the visit to the naafi

it would be nice to have a watch on the run but.....thats life. I should be heading up Glencorse withing 2 weeks, i'll hear from my Recruiter on monday.
Checked my 1.5 mile the other day and it was 9.20. Ive been told off a Para Regt lad at the AFCO who i had my interview with, to stop the fast pace 3 milers, and just make sure i do 40 mins of running at least, and put in a bit Fartlek. Im worried though, will my 1.5 mile time go down?
He told me to run at a pace where its easy to talk to some one if i was running with them for example, and just put in a few sprints. He reckons this will be better for my time, what you think?
