you used to run 1.5 miles as a troop, then turn around and your on your own for the way home!!! ahh freedom.

This is no more, now it is run as a troop (beneficial as you are all together for motivation and encouragement)

Im guessing the PTIs run the PRMC 3 miler at about a 21 minute pace

Why even bother going down if you can't run the first test!

i know daft isnt it, but yea 9 dropped out,

sorry dlink forgot to answer, the whole run is as a troop, usually with the pti leading at the front right corner of the pack and then you try and run in 3 ranks but it just ends up a shambles!!

hope nothing holds you back on your medical, and alls well for your selection process markd mate.

off to afco now, like ive been told to, dont know why exactly, i dont think i receive a start date today, maybe just for a natter and a wet?!!?

lads . . . the most boring and pointless trip to newcastle ever!! got the bus there which takes an hour and then waited in my afco, then received a hand shake off my c.o and got told to wait for a phone call to get my start date and then id have to go in for a final brief.

oh well, just going to train and improve on my strength and stamina.

training wise i didnt do a great deal im afraid, ill say it straight up, i could of prepared much better, but ive passed and now ive got my ticket to ctcrm to become a marine, what more could i ask for?!?!

i did alot of 3/4 mile running which im now going to changed to 6/7 mile, due to being told to by the pti's down ctc.

also whenever i got back from a run or yomp(round my town across fields and that with wieght on my back) i did max press-ups and sit-ups . . .

big day tomorrow for sandaz, best of luck bud, how long you two(markd and dlink) got before things get going?

quite a while mate.

its my brothers wedding next year july which i have to attend for obvious reasons. but im gonna try time things perfectly.
i have a lil issue o being south african and i have to be released from south african service first. (hopefully soon will get a reply from embassy)

but the hand in my application in Nov and then see how things go from there.

also gotta get fit i am reasonably but not greatly fit,
i started rugby again (first time in 4 years) so that will help with motivation to get fit.

then work on press ups and stuff. have a few problems with training but will sort it out soon enough hopefully.

LOL good on you mate,
ya know with regards to South Africa having the equivelant mate i have no idea lol i been here for 5 years now dont consider myself as one of them, i even inherited the accent.( english accent)

I cant wait to go to do my PJFT then PRMC etc.
i wish i could just snap my fingers and i was fit.

to be honest i have never done more than a 2 mile run though that was about 3 weeks ago could probably do a 3 miler now. just not quickly.

did you have any push ups or sit-ups deducted.
what was the form you had to take, and did you have someone holding your feet and counting for sit ups.
sorry to bombard you with questions.

orite lads, i know what you mean dlink, i wish i could snap my fingers and have foundation out the way!! oh well, im sure we'll be in our ideal situations before we know it! :D

with regards to running mate theres nothing to it really, just keep at it and you'll find running a doddle after a while, remember 'pain is temporary but glory is forever'

only had one sit-up deducted because the lad holding my legs was holding my knees aswell lol  he was a sound lad, hope to see him again, we were like brothers down there, i can see the corps being a great place for friendships, i love ctcrm already!!

press-ups are done with your elbows in and with your chest over your partners fist, and sit-ups you have someone sit on your feet and hold your shins whilst you do as many as you can, elbows touching the top of your knees and your arms slapping the mat as you come back down.

no way am i going to stop now markd mate, im going all the way and going to have the best of fun whilst training, ill buy the wets no bother as long as you find some birds because im lacking in the confidence department  i have to be tipsy in order to even talk to the opposite sex, poor isnt it!!

defo, all the best sandaz, you'll do fine bud, let us know how it goes, and let the good times roll for all of us! :D
