I suppose one could start with basic instructions like: hold the blunt end very tightly to your shoulder and look for the thing we call a 'trigger'.
We'll cover fitting a magazine and cocking later

how about we start him on NSP's, or for that matter how about we not let him anywhere near anything resembling a weapon!

I'm not aux fait with 'NSP' but perhaps we can give him an exploded diagram?
Or start him at the basics?
"This is my rifle
This is my gun
This is for shooting
This is for fun"

I am ex-military (light cavalry). Some terminology has changed. We would have called that 'Basic Principals'.
Then again we didn't spend much time faffing about with small arms. Our PW's were clipped to the wall of the turret and only worn as an adornment when going to O Groups.

As we always used to say:
There are those who were born to lead, and there were those who were born to follow - and there are Italians
BV's are a square boiler which hook onto the back of the turret in a panzer. They hold about a gallon and have a wee button operated nozzle at the bottom to empty the luverly hot water into the coffee grounds in yer best china. We only took that out for visitors though
