I think Ross Kemp is a cracking Documentary maker. weird to think he was Grant in Eastenders. Also, did anyone see the episode of Extras with him in? Funny stuff.
But yeah, R.K.I.A/R.K.R.T.A (and the ...on gangs series) are both amazing so far. Hats off to the guy for getting stuck in, showing peoplpe what its really like out there and back at home for the families.

I loved it i think he does a great job he really gets to know the people out there and really respects them. I have the DVD (at my girlfriends), will have to check if the extra episodes on there.
Unfortunately i missed return to afgahnistan but thanks to just_me going to watch it sometime in the week on youtube.
Also in the first 5 episodes he did they was with the regiment i am joining (royal anglian) just not same batt and they was still doing there training but in pirbright??
I know 1 royal anglian are based in Pirbright, when posted with your reg and arent on tour are you training everyday? For instance my recruiter said providing everything goes OK ill be at germany the end of this year, what will i be doing there? thanks.

Adam what the Anglican's were doing beforehand was their pre-deployment training which I believe everybody does before they go on tour to prepare them for that specific enviroment, sharpen their drills etc.

ive got a lot of respect for Ross Kemp for all the stuff he has done on gangs through out the world, but even more so with the afghanistan series. return to afghanistan looks to be very much as entertaining(i dont mean funny) and informative as the first series..
but we have to show some respect for the crew and cameraman aswell, they always seem to get forgotten about.

I really enjoy watching it, I'm re-watching the first series and watching the current one on youtube, it does the same for me in that it excites me about the infantry.

I think it's the closest insight your going to get of what it is actually like out there unless your there.

Andy mcnabs tour of duty is good, the only thing that pissed me off was when one of the American marines was talking about his hand to hand fight with a insurgent high on drugs, the over the top way he went about telling the story was just **** beating him with his helmet (the one his head) breast plate, rifle but, bayoneting him stamping and biting, it may have happened but the way he described it made it sound a tad false.

Try searching video.google.com or Youtube.com, personally it's worth a buy apart for that one bit (personally)
