Not a very nice smooth ride and the risk of being blew up, bit worse than a train ride init haha. Only going to do a tiny bit of training this week, you doing much training?

Thought it was, checked the map last night and sh1t my self right up, my rail warrent had the wrong station on it so my SGT from the ACIO brought a new one dirrectly to my house. haha!
Best thing to do with the speaking is deap breath befor you go up smile keep you're hands behind you're back to show youre recruiter you mean bisuness.. look people in the eye and tell them.. key points tho i.e
Name
Age
Family life
Why what and when did you decide to join (My story is a laugh (kind of)
What you expect from the army
and what the army can expect of you.

Don't worry I'm not too different myself! Here's all you need to know about your icebreaker from a handout I was given:
1. Name and Age - Practice in front of an audience. This could be family, friends, teachers, workmates - anybody! It may seem a little embarrassing at first, but stick with it. Imagine, when at ADSC just how embarrassing it will be for the applicant who has not practiced. Your icebreaker should lastabout 3-5 minutes.
2. Hometown - Not everybody knows where your hometown is. You will be with people all over the country. Describe where your town/city is and what it is like to live there.
3. Family - Describe the family and people you live with. What they do, how old are they? What are their likes and dislikes?
4. Hobbies and intrests - What do you like to do when you are not in school or at work? Don't just say 'Watch TV' or 'Hang around with your mates'. If that is all you actually do, then think of the activities you would like to do.
5. Chosen corps/cap badge and why - What appeals to you about the particular job you are applying for? Why do you see that job as prefferabe to the others on offer? What do you think this job can offer you that you will not get from civilan life? Research your job choices with the paper work given to you at the AFCO and on the internet (Try
here or
here)
6. Ambition in life - What do you want to achieve in your lifetime and how does a career with the Army fit into it? Try to describe what you want to be doing in 5 or 10 years from now. What can you do to achieve these aims? How can the Army help you achieve these aims?
7. Qualities you have to ofer the Army - What personal qualities do you have that will make you a good soldier? Why are you suited to the particular trade you have chosen? (Don't say that you can follow orders or do as you're told)
8. Preparation you have done/are doing for ADSC - What research have you carried out prior to selecting your job? How often do you go for a run and for how long and how far? Have you been following a set fitness program? If so for how long? Is it progressive? Have you found it easy/difficult? Do you go to the gym or carry out upper-body excercises? If so, what excercises, how many and how often? Will you continue preparation after ADSC? How will you do this?
Hope this helps. If you put your hands behind your back you can stop any mannersims like figeting with your hands and such as these will be noticed.

I can bet that it's going to be raining pretty bad when were at ADSC. BBC Weather forecast says heavy rain on friday, not sure if this will change anything? My ACIO said if they feel the rain will effect your run time you may have a bleep test instead?¿

My ACIO said shirt and jeans but everybody else seems to be turning up in trousers, shirt, tie etc. Don't want to get there and lose marks for not being appropriately dressed.

You'll be allright mate, you just can't turn up not looking like you want it i.e Chavtastic.
Smart cloths is all you need, the only reason im using a suit is because i got one, if i didn't i'd be wearing the same, they will most likley take a glance at what you're wearing and note it down thats it.. as for me im turning up in a suit, smart shoes tie ect, i think you'll be good, they make allowances based on age too so they can see that you're not working and most proberbly can't afford it.
Getting excited yea, i just want this damn train trip out the way, as for my run i doubt i'll go full steam, i'll just try stay ahead of the pack.. stick close to me fella it'll be allright.
