Thats a quarter of a century, maybe it is old.

I'm guessing I'll be one of the oldest in YO training, due to my advanced years. thus making me the wise and learned father figure (I don't think so). I remember feeling very strange when my AFCO informed me that I would be too old to apply next year.

Age and youth have different things going for them in terms of the mob as you'll be aware already. On the ITV Commando show that I have sent to Chris (he should be copying to other members on DVD) there are some older guys going through CTC and it's interesting to look at their experience..I did my TA Cadre at 26, and a friend of mine passed CTC at 37 Last seen talking to 21 about doing selection for them... Old geeeeeeezer!!

Well, here we go. I'm off down to sunny Lympstone tomorrow. Should be fun . I've bought an iron and everything.

I thought the beret is recieved at the end of the commando course? then the YO goes on to do the officer specific training with the green beret?

Well, after 3 (only 3!) weeks, no one has wrapped, and I'm very tired. Plus I'm a daemon with the old ironing board.

Hard work, tiring work, lots to learn. But this is the best job in the world. Wouldn't do anything else.
