I dont think the new format makes the PRMC any easier or harder - you still need the same level of fitness.
The first day is probably easier - most people pass the three miler while gym test 1 is not continuous work like bottem field and gym test two. The second day is a killer because for the two tests you are basically sweating your bollocks of and pushing yourslef to your limts continuously for at least half an hour each. I pulled out of bottem field, so I did less than everyone else on day two, but gym test 2 was still a killer and I struggled more than others. i think on the first day they are simply measuring your cardio and upper body strength. On the second day, they are measuring your determination and mental stength. You need a lot of this, especially since you are still stiff from the previous days work.
I think if you fail the 3 miler or do shit on gym test 1 (like me), you still have an opportunity to show your determination on the second day, but you will struggle more. On my PRMC, about 10 people failed on the first day. None failed on the second. The new format probably sorts out the unfit first, and those who lack determination second.
Basically, if you have the fitness to get through the first day you have no excuse to fail the second day.
