Here's a question about the Royal Navy, It might have something to do with traditions but here you go.

Why is the Royal Navy called the "Senior Service?"

I heard I couple of variations, but I'm unsure of whom to believe.

Thanks

Ask someone who has been shown the golden rivet. They will tell you where the last rivet went.

Aye - Andy. :o

Well if your not I will.... daft as it seems.....
The Army, Phil is made up of varied and different skilled units, some are Royal some are Prince whatnot's or Duke of ..... ie Royal corps of Signals and the Duke of York Light Infantry (all Army)
The Royal Air and Royal Navy are each a single forces with in the British Armed Forces.
Hence ROYAL Navy/ Air Force and Not Royal Army

Hope that answers your question.
Aye

Ps sorry about the shilled!

I have a question here.... May run along the lines of tradition but here goes...

'Why are Artificers so disliked by other ratings' :bad-words:

I have to ask because I was talking to a friend of mine who said that 'once the 'Grey?' badge goes on the shoulder, then they think they are high and mighty?'

PHIL :silly: bit confused

Because they are straight into the messwhereas others have to work their way into the mess through sweat and time... Some have an attitude as well. It took me 16 years to get into the mess and I respect it, some of these little sh*ts don't. I pull a few of them up on occassions and 'Rembrant' them. If they don't take the advice... the five knuckle attitude adjuster always works!
