Loz Thank you for your reply.I may have picked it up wrongly here.Female ops are ideal for int gathering and other jobs as you well know, and us males get bored after 10 mins on these type ops whereas the girls have great patience and good obs.I'm sure you could teach me a trick or two on the ground when it comes to int gathering. I am a former RUCSACK who worked closely with you know who and I liked their Modis Operandi including 14.

If I can just interupt you two lovebirds and go back a bit....
PS and I find Hereford is a lot less friendly than it used to be...way too many incomers who don't appreciate the way of life and would be better suited to living in a big city. Of course just my opinion.

You got that right loz!
Hereford is a run down, under invested, drug ridden (newton farm  ) litter strewn dump these days. There are no decent jobs at all (unless you like chickens or cider), the people arnt the slightest bit friendly (well, not on a friday/saturday night at closing time), the roads are grid locked, theres no decent amenities like cinemas etc (not unless you like the large tv in a warehouse that pretends to be a cinema).

Hereford needs much investing in fast. Its stuck somewhere between the war ration days and the naff early 80's. The only saving grace is the countryside (and me 8) )

i personally think women should have a shot at sas selection although i also think it wouldnt be right as i think they personally wouldnt be able to handle the itterigation side of things and i also think the men would still treat them as th weaker sex.. i think its best how it is at the moment although i could be wrong.. sorry if any women are offfended by this in any way. no offence was intended.

Turning Pedantry into an art form.............

Clearly no one told Rambo that the fairer sex have been operators since the early 70's and whilst they might not go on selection, anyone with JSG/JCU could tell you how tough the women really are, (and they do the interrogation bit as well by the way).

Now, where was I.................Hello Golf November 7 zero...............

Aye. :o

Rambo,

Beware the sweeping generalisation for it will bite you on the arse. I have seen many women fare better than many men during the interrogation phase of their training.

I am writing this under the duress of the demon drink!!
I think women should not be subjected to SF training. They couldn't do it.
What they can do is what they did so well in I**.**. And they were brilliant.
It is time we realised that the gentle sex, do have a role to play in all forms of military operations. Use them in the proper way!! Not full front on military ops. But / or undercover ops.
That may sound a liitle sexist - BUT women are sexual creatures and long they may be so!!

Prepare for the backlash sneaky beaky.

In the Irish Army women are included in everthing (don't know if that includes SF) they are highly competent and often outdo the men in many areas. What I would say is that if women are to take part in SF that they must first pass the selection test without time or other allowances that are commonplace for other selections.

This will probably rile all the dungeree wearing brigade but here goes, a lot of the job's that the regiment do involve small groups 4. 6.or 8. highly trained individuals. To get individuals to act as a team is an art form,to get a team of mixed gender individuals to work as a team. you can draw your own conclusions but if you throw in the level of testosterone flying about it is not easy
A team all women who knows might work.
Ah well back to the pub stirring done for the day.

I'm prepared for the backlash. But I still stand by my statement.
I love women and I can't possibly be called sexist and if they can perform as well as the men on selection, then they should be included. BUT. They are far better working with SF as opposed to being part of them. There is also the sexual element, where the men will always try and protect the women, to the detriment of the op.
I don't know Lozhops but I have a feeling she could put you in the picture!!

That's crap, you could say the same about anyone in a squad. They will try and defend their teammates. And not to pretend to know what is going through a SF trooper's mind but wouldn't they do what is best for the mission.
