Don't worry adidev, I've read some of your posts before and think don't think any of them warrant a serious responce.

We in my time did not have any choice to leave, you just had to grin and bear it and you did. The harder it got the more determined you got, it would have been the cruelest of blows to have failed and none of us of our squad did we stuck it out some failed for a little time but got back on the horse and rode it.
But you mate decided to wimp out and that is what grips you in the middle of the night,you had your chance for fame and fortune and you blew it - well,just suck it in mate that's all you can do.
If some of my prier posts were not up to your acceptance 'well who cares what you feel' you are a civvie so you will never have the opportunity to meet me on a level playing field. I was a bootneck, I did go into action as most of us in the corps (well 3 cdo brigade) did and there is no better feeling in the world than letting rip at people trying to dead you 'wonderful' the best rush in the world, you didnt so you will never know what it is like. Just live with your decision .

Terry cheers for the post mate, I'll take your criticism on board as will I do from the most people on here, whether it is good or bad. What I won't do is take it from adidev, who's previous and continuing posts show him to be about 12 years old, and from his previous posts, I for one doubt he's ever been in the corp.

But terryrat, what makes you think I'm not getting on with my life mate. I’ve not moaned about the condition of my life in anyway. I'm never going to rate my live by how it compares to your or anyone else’s experiences. So if you have the towel and the T-shirt, then I'm genuinely happy for you mate.

I think this post has gone way off message since I first posted. It basically went along the lines of, I never knew anything about the marines before I'd joined and it wasn't till way after I left that I realised it was a good place and company to be in, and that I never wanted to be in it, until after I left. Also that the experiences changed me. That's most of what I said in a nutshell, if you or the message has changed to me sitting in front of the tv shaking all night with some kind of mental withdrawal symptoms, then I'm sorry it's somehow gone off on that one.

From the pm's I have had from several people on here, the feeling isn't whether you get the green lid or maroon beret, it's when all chaps leave the group. They all wish they could turn back the clock and be with there mates again.

But yep, I'm going to give it another crack and already applied to re-join. I'm currently on about £45,000 a year, self employed and working 2 hours a day. So please don't think I'm somehow sat here moaning without actually doing nothing about it, or giving anything up.

I've looked at all of your previous 30 odd posts on here and to be honest with you, there's nothing in there that a 12 year old couldn't have written.

Everyone else on here has mentioned some of there experiences, yet you have absolutely no mention of anything you did in the corp, no places you've been, no people you've met. You simply criticise everyone without qualifying anything. Or how about when you asked Foxrocks about "chosping off" was, you story is just one big walking alarm bell. From the guys I know in the marines, you'd have been filled in several times my friend.

Hey maybe there is good reason for not mentioning anything, maybe you went straight to sf and can't talk about anything.

For me it's a bad day when someone comes on here and you can't take his word for it, that he was in the force he claims.

well adidev, I've made my thoughts clear my friend. I'm sure people that have been in the corp and other regiments will make up there own mind if they haven't already on your invisible service record.

But I think I must now take a lesson from some others on here and cease to reply to you anymore, and simply bypass your amazingly intellectual and well qualified posts.

Greywing watching this vid (picked it up from 'onceamarine' site) might give you a buzz and an urge to run out and rejoin the mob. Unfortunately its of the Parachute regiment fighting in Afghan shortly before the corps took over in that position.

One of my mates got to week 20 and was MD'd. This was a few years ago but I can tell he's still gutted about it. I try not to mention wanting to join up as although he loves talking about it for the first 5 minutes, it isn't long before he starts wishing he had decent knees and I see him start to go a bit misty-eyed.

I suppose it's the same as anything else really- if you really want something but know that you can never have it, you may struggle to accept that fact. I know that if I were to be forced out due to an injury despite knowing that mentally I could hack it, then I'd be gutted too. It's one thing knowing that you're just not made of the right stuff, but when it's an injury it's probably going to be beyond your control which makes it all the worse.

You tried mate, that's the main thing. If you'd never tried you'd probably get to mid-30s and spend the rest of your life from then on wondering "what if?".
