After studying about the attack to Invincible i still waiting for someone who tell or answer me this questions:

There have been several topics on this matter circulating around on the Internet, saying that the Invincible had been hit and sunk in the Falklands. It's not true, this is just speculation hitting the British topics. HMS Invincible was never destroyed in the Falklands War. The ship is fine, she returned safely from the Falklands and therefore if you read anything that suggests otherwise it is total rubbish and people are just simply messing around with stupid rumours. So the up-to-date truth is, that HMS Invincible (R05) is indeed still looking very well and so please ignore anymore of these remarks that you either read or hear, concerning this matter. I thought I would just shed some light on this subject.

I served with Invincible from '81 - '83, including during the Falklands War in '82. Was Captain's personal steward during the commissioning service and for a long time after. Any ex stewards or catering contacts reading this - I would love to hear from you...some may remember me as Jock or mad Jock! Wolfie, Stuart Jago, Brum Bough...where are you now???

If you do a search on google you will find a couple of Argentinian sites that have stories of attacking HMS Invincible. However the rest of the world sites fail to mention it. You also got a roasting on www.arrse.co.uk so why don't you f*ck off and find another forum to peddle your crap on.

Invincible may have been hit but so was Glamorgan and she made her own way home so I'm sure invincible could too. On the way home the task force needed to cross the equator so they could do the repairs there instead of the feezing south atlantic.

Invincible has just finished her final commision anyway hasn't she?

The official web page of the Royal Navy say this:

HMS Invincible R 05 N = 194 mts

HMS Illustrious R 06 L = 194 mts

HMS Ark Royal R 07 R = 210 mts

However a web page of the Falklands War, put the next photo, saying is HMS Illustrious with HMS Invincible in July of 1982.
" the HMS Invincible actually remained in the area long after the main body of the British Task force and was relieved on the station only by the HMS Illustrious in July 1982. "

But this photo show us the ships are not identically, one is larger than the other.


Now, if you search for the large of Illustrious will see: 210 mts as Ark Royal, that because the Illustrious of 1982 (194 mts) now is the HMS Invincible.
